A trend is a direction
An uptrend often has higher highs and higher lows. A downtrend often has lower highs and lower lows. Sideways markets have no clear direction. Different timeframes can show different trends.
Support and resistance
Support is an area where buying has previously slowed a fall. Resistance is an area where selling has previously slowed a rise. Treat them as zones, not exact walls; both can break.
Volume adds context
Volume counts the shares traded during a period. A move with unusually high volume can indicate stronger participation. It still does not guarantee that the move will continue.
Avoid the perfect entry trap
A price can reverse after an apparent breakout. Decide what evidence would change your view before you enter. Do not treat a single line or pattern as a buy instruction.
